Metrics Contract Services Appoints Manager of Pharmaceutical Development
May 15, 2019, Greenville, N.C. – Metrics Contract Services, the contract pharmaceutical development and manufacturing division of Mayne Pharma, welcomes Troy Stox as manager of pharmaceutical development.
Stox will direct a team of formulation scientists who develop oral solid-dose formulations for Phase I through Phase III clinical trials, and then scale up and support the validation and commercialization of those products. Additionally, he will focus on day-to-day “right first time” initiatives and time management of schedules and staff.
“Troy has an extensive background in process optimization and operations as well as project management. His diverse skill sets will enhance our product development expertise as well as increase productivity by ensuring the efficient management of resources,” said Brad Gold, Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development for Metrics Contract Services. “He will be an effective and strategic leader who will help manage a broad spectrum of vital projects.
Stox will also provide planning and budgeting for operations within the pharmaceutical development department as well as hire, train and manage the pharmaceutical development staff.

Over 15 years of Stox’s 25-year industry experience has been in oral solid dose manufacturing. He most recently worked in quality control management at DSM Dyneema. He began his career in 1988 at Burroughs Wellcome as a co-op in the company’s quality control labs before becoming production supervisor there and eventually at DSM Pharmaceuticals. Stox advanced to Senior Supervisor and Project Manager for Solid Oral Dosage forms and department SME. Stox holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from East Carolina University.
